Have been saying for some time the whole thing is a myth for political and financial gain and that there were bigger cycles than we necessarily knew about. Supported by the fact that the ice ages came and went without human intervention.

The current spell is a bit at odds with the theory, especially when you listen to all the "it never gets as cold as / snows like when I was a kid"

Thought I was a lone voice in the wilderness - but it seems I do have some...

Buying a used Fazer 600

Hi - Happy New Year to all!

Right - insurance money has now come though, so starting to look for new bike. Cannot afford a nice shiny new one, been recommended to look at a used Fazer.

As luck would have it, one of my work associates, has a 1999 'V' Plate Fazer that he recalls has done c. 20K. On SORN and MOT expired last March.

Apart from the obvious stuff - checking tyres, chain & sprockets, sticking calipers, is there anything specific on a Fazer I...

When i walked out this morning it felt like that scene in the film where they instantly freeze as they exit the helicopter. Ive been prisoned by the snow for the last 2 days so no work yiphee... How much snow has everyone had and what temperature?? I havent cleared the car since monday and ive got 14 inch piled on there at the moment. Thermometer is displaying minus 10 at the moment too. *yawn* im bored!!!!!!!

Has anybody got a Nuvi they use on bike? The Zumo looks the business but pretty dear compared to the Nuvi. Nuvi supposed to be waterproof, any reason not to use it on a motorbike? Otherconcern would be if the Nuvi can take routes from Mapsource, Garmins own literature seems to miss that bit off.
Anyone got any opinions, advice etc

The ma in law is on all sorts of medication and recently she's had a swine flu jab. Coz of the tabs she's on and shes full of cold, she has to have a 2nd swine flu jab so whilst at the dr's yesterday, she asks the receptionist if the nurse will give her the 2nd jab when she comes back for her tabs next week (this is the usual procedure for the ma in law)

NO....is the answer

MIL asks again why the nurse cannot order a jab then give it to her when she sees her...

After working for her for 6 years and 2 years being on short time mostly less than 3 days a week , she dropped a bombshell pre xmas that we were relocating 23miles away as the rent is cheaper , not had a proper consultation and expected to go without any travelling etc . She has been undecisive as to whether we are moving and if we did promised us full work in Jan setting up new site . i have'nt agreed to this and there is no motivational clause in my 40 hrs per week current contract ....

Got called out by a guy from maidstone to attend to his mothers house local to me. Carers had been unable to get in and the house was in darkness, not good.
I arrived and the neighbour comes out (a key holder) and explains that the son wants me to start without him present.
So I get the door open, bracing myself for the worse, enter with a torch, turning lights on as we go and get a very annoyed old lady demanding why we are in her house!
Bless her she had fallen, probably some...
