Hello,

I think this is my first post, so I'll introduce myself. My name is Rick and I own a FZ400. I live in Thailand where the FZ400 was sold by legal importers, not as a grey import. I've had bikes before, but this is my first 'nice bike' that wasnt a rusty beater. I was told that my bike is a 2000 model, but all documents are in Thai so who knows for sure.

Don't worry not a moan, but a plea for help

Aul' Ulysses has been given his annual overhaul and i seem to have a problem with the front brakes.

I striipped em down and cleaned em all out an that and replaced the seals but kept the pistons as they were near spotless. The pads were also only half worn so tossed them back in as well

Hey there,

My bike has some running issues at the moment that I was hoping to get sorted out, but I need a bit of help.

All the way in to work this morning, I couldn't use anything more than the tiniest bit of throttle or it would misfire like crazy. Proper juddering. I think it is only one cylinder (downpipe colder than the rest) which I guess points to a dodgy lead or cap. I changed the plugs not very long ago. I don't understand the set up on this bike. My gearbox has always been noisy ,but now I have taken of the race can its becoming quite annoying . Anybody actually had one fail ? I once had a gearbox burst on an old Norton Commando "not an experience I would like to repeat". my chain is not tight so that is not a factor. usefull imput appreciated !

Fuel Tank

Following advice on the forum, I purchased a fuel tank from a 2001 FZS1000 to put on my 1998 FZS600 so that I could have the extra 2 litres. The replacement is about 3 inches short for the mountings as the tank is not as long as the original. Is there anything I can do or get that will help it fit?

I also purchased a tank from a 2004 model but that does not fit at all and looks as though I will have to resell it.

Any advice on how to fit the 2001 tank?

Baglux tank cover

My tank is a mess, badly dented (not by me I bought the bike like it). I fancy one of the new Baglux tank covers for my '98 Fazer and Motorbike and Parts online have a red/black/white one but for a 2001 model. Now although my bike's a '98 model, it's the red/black/silver colour scheme which means it's either been re-sprayed (unlikely looking at the state of it!!), or it's got the later tank. I've been having troube with my clutch. It wasnt disingaging the engine fully and so gear changes where a bit rough (but not that bad) and going from neutral to first there was a bit of a jump forward. I was also getting a mettalic thiny sound when in neutral with the clutch out (kinda like a screw hitting a piece of metal sound).

So i took the cover off and i noticed that only 4 of the friction plates moved when the clutch lever was pulled in. So I...

I've had the 600 for 7 years, recently went back to 020's (after several sets of Z6's) the dreaded wobble reappeared. Slowing down between 40-30 mph fairly robust bar wobble.

New Osram Nightracer bulbs

Afternoon all

Has anyone tried the new Osram bulbs yet. I have the old stylee fazer (you know, the one with the rubbish headlights) and was wondering what bulbs to try this winter.

They're about £28 so as the reflector in my headlight also isn't the best, I was wondering if it would be a waste of money spending all that if they don't make that much difference.

Any tips gatefully received.

connector hanging down

I have a white connector hanging down below the frame under the seat, i,ve tried to see where the wire goes but cant figure it out. It is a white rectangle connector with 2 contacts, and twin wire atached. I thought it might be a connector for a battery charger but i dont really know. Anyone got any ideas? It an 02 fzs600

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and biking. I'm hoping someone can help me with this - my '99 Fazer 600 fell off the stand (long story) and the starter clutch cover cracked. I've bought a new one, removed the old one, and took out the bearing which sits in the cover by soaking it in hot water.

When I went to put the bearing into the new cover, I wasn't sure how to do it, so I stuck the bearing in the freezer and the cover in the oven for a while, and then tried to...

Hi, I'm new here, so ... hello

I'm looking for parts (like headlamp, body, etc.) for my Fazer FZS600. I found few nice online shops in US (cheap) but no FZS model found there (FZS wasn't selling in US - that's what they said).

So my question is, do you know any (cheap, I found expensive one, i.e. headlamp for 450 Euro) store with FZS parts ?

Hi all, I stupidly parked my Fazer in a gravel car park the other day (I should have know better) and when pulling away the front wheel dug in and I dropped it - what an idiot! Even though I was only doing 5mph I managed to crack up all of the front faring; bugger! Does anywhere know where I can buy a replacement faring? Cover gasket from Thundercat - will it fit FZS?

Hello,

I need to buy gasket for valves cover. Problem is that it costs 60 euro in Poland, but
gasket for Thundercat (same year - 2000) - costs only 10 euro. I wonder if it will fit?
AFAIR both engines are identical or almost identical?

Also I would like to know if rubber pads for 8 screws for cover will fit also?
