First impressions on these new tyres from Avon, quick warm up good grip in the dry (not rained yet), and very smooth and noiseless after Bridgestone 021's. I will report back as the mileage clocks up but so far I like them a lot.

Picked my bike up 5 days ago (07 FZ1 Naked) apart from the suspension being set up all wrong it come with some almost new Diablo's Corser rear normal front. After setting the suspension up I though id go for a hoon with pals, cant get on with the tyres at all they just not giving me confidance and I managed to lock the front wheel a couple of times

I hate f-ing nails less than 2K on the tyre and £109 i won't see again.

Just got another 03 600 and it still has 57's on it (bikes only done 6500), question is what can I expect from them.....

1) under pressure (twistys)
2) in the wet
3) mileage

I've only really used 020's and Avon Storms which I love but I'm not replacing these for the sake of it, so they're gonna run their life

Hi just bought a 2001 fazer with 3,500 miles on clock needs new back tyre i think this is the original as i used to get 4,000 out of my old bandit its a dunlop sportmax have just priced up a new one at £85 pounds fitted i think this is a good price any body care to ad anything to this comment I.E good price or not

Yes I know...Another tyre question.
My 08 FZ1s came with a new set of Diablo's when I got her in Feb this year, and now 3200mls later the rear is down to the warning markers on the tyre, so....
My local Yam dealer Raceways in Fleetwood has an offer of £180 fitted for Diablos . He quoted me £205 for the Conti Sport attack fitted

I am currently lookin at getting new tyres but not 021's again as they are shite.
even tyre fitter said the fronts all wear out the right hand side like mine has.
So who has storm ST's and who has 2CT's and your views on them both.
I think I want the michelins but only if the tyre place can source a rear. best price I got...

My 021's are on there way out (FZS 600 2000).
The front is aproaching the wear indicators on the right hand side and is a bit square in the middle!! shit in my opinion.
the rear has squared off and is also aproaching the wear indicators in the middle but loads of tread both sides.
Both these tyres were put on as a pair, I run 36psi front and 42psi rear, I normally do 2 rears to a front and am not happy with this front as it has worn pretty quick at the edge and has a...

Metzeler Z6 front tyre washing out all the time ?

I bought myself a pair of Metzeler Z6 tyres for my FZS600 a few months ago and they were a bit slippery with the front end washing out when they were first fitted, and i put this down to them needing to be scrubbed in.
So i left it and rode carefully for the next thousand miles, and they still hadnt improved, and now 500 more miles on, i simply dont trust my front tyre any more, i find i am taking corners like a learner, slowing right down, and on the odd occasion where i do push it into...

I have posted previously that I have had issues with my RP2's. Looking at both tyres I have visible symetrical lines running around both tyres just off centre. There is almost a shallow groove in the tyre.
I have never seen this on a tyre before so I went back to the garage who fitted them and they contacted their tyre supplier.
Supplier/Michelins comment.........."this is an anti-static strip that is only fitted to Michelin tyres..........."

BT 021 Noise CURE

Has anyone found a cure for the BT021 front noise? apart from removing mudguard? I've heard about problems and decided against fitting an 021 I've gone back to 020's.
sort of things i was thinking may be worth trying; spraying underseal inside mudguard, lining with thin foam, putting small vent in front section.
I;m sure some of you guys have experimented lets know if anything works.

Bad wobble

Had a front Avon Storm fitted (long story, but have a Z6 on the back).

Getting really bad wobble, noticeable below 40, gets bad @30, worse the slower I get. (yes, hands on the bars!)

I'll check the pressures when it's cold, could it be balancing, or woul dthat be worse @speed?

Never had a problem like this before.

I was cleaning /checking the bike this weekend and I noticed the back tyre has a deffinate flat area in the middle, although it still has a good tread depth. I am fairly new to biking so do not probably corner very fast, compared to others. Should I be thinking about a new tyre or is this a normal thing for new riders.

one major point i will make is that these tyres on my bike make way too much road noise

just the front mind, it sounds like I'm on my suzuki dr200 with knobblies on

is there anyway of stopping the noise, I checked the pressures and they are fine,
