Hi to all foccers out there, may I bow to all with the knowledge out there and seek your guidance !!!!
I have a 01' Fzs600 on a "Y" and am planning to do Europe next year with a few mates and seek advice from anyone who can point me on the right road as to which panniers fit my FZS600. I have browsed ebay and there are that many different panniers for numerous applications, I am in a tizz as to which one fits...

Which would you recommend? Have a route / circuit in mind, and want to down load it to my tomtom 1, it will be on the bike (waterproofed and not bothered about the speaker)

Just did a four day trip from Hampshire to Killarney and loved it. First trip since passing my test last October. Fazer stood up well except for the motorway stint on the return leg from Fishguard where I was buffeted about quite a bit in the cross winds, mind you the bike is top heavy with my fat arse on it.

ok, next summer we're planning going all the way to Nordcap (sp) via both the Norwegian west coast (North Sea) and the Swedish East coast (Baltic) ferrying to Denmark from Harwich (best compromise now that there doesn't seem to be any ferries from Newcastle to Den/Nor/Swe.

So for those that have been, what's your advice?

I need to get some breakdown cover for Europe. I'll be travelling to countries like Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania and Slovakia. Being as there are lots of touring FOCCERS out there with a mountain of experience what to you usually go for? This will be my 1st tour, and hopefully the 1st of many

I'm planning a euro trip 2up covering 16+ countries depending on route.

We have 24 days starting August b/hol weekend.

I'm having trouble plotting my route from Croatia to Serbia to Romania to Hungary. The rest of Europe I have covered using online maps.

Can anyone recommend a good source for maps of the eastern baltic states? I have a map of Croatia at 1:300,000 which I stole from the ex father in law but can't seem to find them online for the...

Millau Viaduct. We actually did this twice, once underneath it as part of a long ride-out and then riding over it on the way home. The roads in the area are excellent, especially the D999 through St Affrique to Albi and the D911 through Villefranche to Cahors.

met up with a guy called Les, who runs Emerald Adventures (crap website btw) but a good idea, they will take up to 10 motorbikes & luggage off to France, Spain, Germany, Ireland etc, for you to then fly and meet and holiday, they will then either bring you back again at the end of your holiday or you can book them for one way only

ideal if you want to make the most of a shorter holiday and not waste time getting to your destination

Austria and beyond tour

Just back from a mad 9 days tour around the Austrian mountains and local passes. Wow! Thanx pabxxv.
We did Grosslockner, Stelvio, Ofen, Umbria and many others. Weather was mixed...pissing down, intermeadiate and hot/dry. The Fz1s never missed a beat with handling good enough to tackle anything out there.
Last year my R1 had me doubting my sanity but this year, lets just say now I know....barking! Austria back to North East ( Austria, Germany, Belguim..France...) in 24 hours...

Me and the missus have been looking for somewhere interesting to go for a few days on the bike in aug and she's got her heart set on Jersey.
Been looking at the web tourist sites etc and can't decide if its my cup of tea. Still got to confirm ferry place and accomodation yet tho so it might not happen yet.
One of the things that puts me off is the blanket speed limit of 40mph on the island. Does anyone know how strictly this is enforced. Are the roads any fun on a bike or...

Scotland trip....route advice

Mid August I'm having a mini trip round Scotland. I've got digs booked for 3 nights but apart from that I'm open about the routes. Advice required!!
Day 1 is travel from Lancs up to Ayr. (route sorted)
Day 2 is from Ayr to Inverness via Fort William
Day 3 is from Inverness down to Galashiels
Day 4 Galashiels back to Lancs (route sorted)

Anybody any suggestions as to "not to be missed" roads on days 2 and 3. Never ventured that...

E21 Panniers how much stuff will they fit

Awaiting delivery of my motech rack that i've bought off chaparral and was wondering just how much stuff you can get in 21 ltrs, Or would 36 ltrs be better. I like the tought of still been able to filter with the smaller panniers but if i can only fit my outsized boxers and a pair of socks in they aint gonna be much use.

Southern Ireland in August - Any route advice

Taking a long weekend in August to do a 4 day trip to southern Ireland. All in all around 800ish miles, roughly 200 miles a day, the plan goes something like:

Newbury to Fishguard (stop Friday night) mainly along the A40 (after Oxford).
Ferry am to Rosslare then on to Limerick along the N24, Stop over Saturday night.
Sunday ride down towards Killarney (N21) then over towards Cork (R618), Waterford (N25) and back to Rosslare for am ferry on...

st euro trip

Just got back from 6 day blast Down from St Malo to Perpignion then out to Andorra Then on to watch superb Moto Gp race in Barcelona then long blast out to Santander to catch ferry home.Great weather superb roads ,bike didnt miss a beat even after riding for 12 hours (gel pad seat on order) on a few occasions,cant wait till next trip.
