hi

anyone got any pictures/easy to understand advice(as i'm not that mechanically minded) on how to replace exup cables top end and route down to bottom.

have got experience on valve servicing but not on cable replacement

Battery Stuffed on FZ1S

Just discovered my battery is stuffed on my FZ1S.....not amused. Was fine until I fitted heated grips then nothing.

Standard battery is the Yusua YTZ14S which my Yam dealer wants £120 for.........its a bloody battery. I was offered a "budget" battery for £35.
So whats the difference then. Same part code just different manufactorers.
I could buy 3 of the cheapies for the Yusua...

Bouncy front end: gen1

Morning

This may be a case of "they all do that sir" but I have always had a mild issue with the way the front end deals with less than flat surfaces. For example when commuting down the M1 in the evenings on what isn't the best of surfaces, the front is appears bouncy as emphasized by the H.I.D kit I have on the bike. Using the 2 second gap as a ref, the beam seem to move 3-4" on the rear of vehicles ahead of me.

2001 tank range

Evening

The current contract has me doing 80 miles round trip and today I got the first tank range figure and I have to say I'm pleasantly impressed.

Stock bike, 195miles, 17.52ltrs, £18.20, 70-90, relaxed riding, before hitting the reserve light. Gonna seen if I can replicate it to confirm the figures..

I'm going to be looking for a new zorst next month as my 'feathered' brand one needs a new Ti sleeve (split in two areas around the riveted on blind bracket, not impressed!) and once they do that under warrenty then I'll be ebaying it as lost a bit of confidence with it. So the options I'm looking at are:

BEEN OUT ON FAZER THIS AFTERNOON.does enormous wheelies.found it easier to keep up than my ex aprilia tuono.
the bike needs a harder tug but balances a lot better.1st straight through to 5th gear.
this stunt was done on private land obviously,. wheelies are dangerous please do not try to replicate.
WHY did i not buy one of these years ago???

Coolant leak???

Bike suddenly started embarrassing me on cool mornings by surrounding me with a cloud of steam when I stop.

Crawled around it while idling on the drive and coolant is dripping down from the engine and landing between no. 1 and 2 exhaust pipes more or less in line with the side stand. It's not the drain plug leaking (its dropping from higher than that) and is definitely coolant. No heating problems fan working etc etc.

This might be a red herring but I did top up the...

Hadn't planned on doing any performance mods until Easter, so I've got the chance to save up pennies and get it all done at once.
Also give me the chance to get the engine properly loosened up and allow myself to get used to it.

Unfortunately, my Ebay scouting means I've just won a full Micron system for just over £200 quid.

Anyone fitted one to a FZS 1000 and do they make any difference?
I wasn't aware Fazer was 'restricted' although I personally feel there's far more to be gained by Ivan's kit and/or advancer mod than this thing which costs the same sorta price.......

After spending about £1500 on mods for my FZ1 this year i thought it was about time i spashed out a little on buying myself a new crash helmet to replace my old Roof R010 crash helmet ...

So i bought a new schuberth S1 off ebay for £150....
Now am just praying it will fit me fine...as many helmets i have tryed on in shops i find that small is to small and medium is to big

Hi all,

I've just checked my valve clearances at 42,000 kms and most were well within tolerance. Only one exhaust clearance was out but only up by.01mm so I left it.

3 inlets were out of tolerance although one was way out at .26 over the other two at .07 and .10. I'm thinking they probably left the factory out of spec.

Just like to add to the ever growing number of riders who have had probs with their Meta alarms/ immobilisers (357T).

Mine hadn't worked for 2 years but I left it alone until the bike wouldn't start one Saturday morning. Thought it was a battery problem so gave it a quick charge and the bike actually started and I went out for the afternoon. Stopped and started several times no problem. Two nights later again the bike wouldn't start and nothing would get it going not...

HI again. just wondering if suspension can be sorted to sports bike capabilities,i,m used to riding aprilia tuonos and they do handle no wibbly wobblys on them things.

don,t want to spend a fortune,after all i bought this bike to do more comfortable miles but still like to mix it with the plastic rocket brigade.

After fitting an end can and power commander to my bike i wasn't sure how it affected the fuel consumption..Yesterday i thought i'd find out what i could get. When the bike was std the best i got was 160miles to a tank, this included 25 miles with the last pip flashing on the gauge, that ride was 70% straight roads and motorways and 30% fast flowing twisty roads...For yesterday's ride i couldn't quite replicate that, i'd say it was closer to 45% straights (but no...
