Strange computer.........................

My relatives computer does a strange thing, when plugging a USB device, the computer reboots, starts windows and reboot again..... untill one unplugs the USB device....

A USB printer works ok, but I tried a Photo frame and it didn't like it, it did this rebooting larky.......

I checked the USB root hubs under device manager and it stated all were working OK.

Any ideas?????

On my mobile I can reply to a topic on here easy peasy.......

BUT click on "New Topic" and I can fill in the heading, but there's no body, below the heading is another place where one can enter text but its called "search tags" why doesn't it work????

Re-installed Leopard last night cos the macbook pro was finally grinding to a halt (after 3 1/2 years of constant abuse). So far I have installed Firefox, Filezilla, MS RDC client (remote desktop for Windoze machines), Nomachine NX client (remote desktop for Linux machines) and istat nano. Still on the list is Skype, Aperture and Photoshop, and possibly a decent text editor. Apart from that I will probably keep it as standard as possible.

So what should I use for opening office...

Suddenly started getting this little window pop up every time I open a Windows program.

AFAIK my copy is genuine, so how do I get rid of this annoying little bastid?

Notebook question

Just calling in with a daft question.

I've been offered a Fujitsu business notebook, but according to the spec on the box there's no modem in it. Does this mean I wont be able to access the internet? There's no other information about whether it's wireless enabled. I've had a look on the Fujitsu website, but can't seem to find any information about this.

I need to clear a spare hard drive and only have a laptop, so I need a 5.25" IDE HDD caddy with USB connector so I can plug it into my pc. I don't really have a long term need for one, so if anyone has one I could borrow i'd be grateful!

anyone recommend one that actually works well and pref charges it at the same time? so many out there and one review says something is tosh another say's it's 5 stars and works perfectly. Car head unit doesn't have an aux input socket front nor back so thinking this is the easiest (and cheapest) way to go to get me pod playing in the cage

bent valve end plate

took the ex-up valve out i was gettin 7k reading on tacho only had the bike a month anyway to cut a long story short the valve was seized solid into the end plate would`nt come out even with loads of heat had to take it to work and drive it out in a fly press but in doin so ive bent the end plate so if i can`t straighten it does anyone know where i can get another one ive rang a few bike breakers but no joy

Help, please, I recently updated Windows Live Messenger, and now when I start my Hotmail account, it starts Live messenger as well, I tried the usual tricks, checking startup items, and unticking boxes that say automatically log in, etc, but that apparently only stops it running at Windows startup, I need it to stop at Hotmail login as well. thanks in anticipation, Pink...

I recently downloaded SP3 onto my desk top wooter, the bastid crashed with a blue screen, managed to get it started in safe mode and tried system back up, no good. Don't know what I deleted next, but the burgler started next time, brillient thinks me, but no. When I try to run any of the programs nothing will open, my device manager file is empty and I think this is my problem, thing is I bought it...

URGENT LAPTOP HELP NEEDED (WIN XP)

Yesterday my laptop (running XP) locked up so I turned it off and restarted it. Now it will go through the load up screens until you get to the screen that you choose the profile on (it has mine and Lauras profiles on). I log onto a profile (doesnt matter which) and it then runs really slowly and eventually my wallpaper will come up but no icons or utility bar along the bottom. At this point CTRL/ALT/DEL doesn't do anything.

I have pressed ESC on boot up and attempted to load up...

Free File sharing sites? any please?

Got fed up with the high incidence of SATA drive failure so built a NAS
0.7 RC1 : amd64-embedded on AMD Athlon(tm) X2 240 Processor (2812MHz) : 2Gb, 4x 1TB SATA disks in raidz.

Seems great but the forums inhabited by geeks whose standard answer is spend 3 months on google if you have a problem. Anyway I keep running out of memory and samba is the culprit. Had the same problems using raid 5 on version 0.6.9.

Thought I'd check on here before I give up and install...

why can't I get any of my desktop internet shortcuts to work?

if i select a site from "my favourites" dropdown menu then the web url appears in the browser...and the website responds...no probs...

BUT...if I try to access the same site via a shortcut from my desktop, internet explorer fires itself up...but the website url is missing...so it won't open.

if I copy the address into the browser...it then works ok...

any ideas ???...

Downloading music to mobile

Got a new mobile today (LG KS360) with an MP3 player. I have tried to download some music from Windows media player via the USB cable but am having no joy although my laptop is detecting the phone and I have downloaded the relevant software from the LG website.

Sometimes Media player detects the phone and other times it doesn`t and when it does it says that I have only 1mb of space left out of 14mb although there are no music files on my phone. Is it a focced up phone, focced up...

matt has manged to get game harbor downloaded onto his pc, now i presume that why when i open either firefox or IE we get windows appear with adult friend finder, casino's, game of the day etc etc. when i go to delete it, it says it cannot as a certain file cannot be found, i went onto major geeks and downloaded malwarebytes, after an 8 hour scan it had found 97 things it did not like and i asked it to take them all away - i restarted the pc - and yes low and behold its still bloody...
